Ian McParland speaks about Keylor navas move to nottingham forest
The pundit and Mansfield Town coach has been speaking to Notts TV.
So, what did McParland say about Forest and Navas? Let’s take a closer look…
What Ian McParland said about Forest and Keylor Navas
Well, the man who served Forest as a coach and a caretaker manager believes the three-time Champions League winner would be a decent signing for the Reds.
Navas spent the second half of last season on loan at Forest – helping the club avoid relegation from the Premier League back to the EFL.
Now, McParland believes Forest could do with getting Navas back, amid reports claiming he’s back on the radar.
He said on Notts TV show Team Talk: “I thought he was outstanding last season, he did more good than bad. He was excellent, he’s calm and composed and signing someone like him again would be great.”
Neco Williams was a huge fan of Navas at Forest. He raved about the international player following his debut for Leeds back in February 2023.
Forest could target new goalkeeper this month
Jose Sa is a goalkeeper who has been linked with a move to Forest too. Nuno Espirito Santo had him at Wolves and it would appear it’s a position that he’s keen to strengthen.
Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos were signed by Forest in the summer transfer window. Neither has really blown supporters away and Turner made another error against Manchester United.
Navas could well be on the radar of Forest again. However, at 37-years-old there is an element of short-termism to the concept of the Costa Rican signing for the club again.
A new goalkeeper will almost certainly be sought this month but perhaps Navas is a player best left along right now.
