‘Huge issues’ – Finance Guru: Premier League chief footage

Dan Plumley has insisted that Richard Masters’ comments on Everton and Nottingham Forest do not help the mood around the appeal at Goodison Park.

The Premier League chief appeared to call two of England’s sides “small” when comparing them to the likes of Manchester City and their charges.

Plumley admitted that the choice of words was not the best, especially given the “huge issues” at play right now with the first charge appeal now being heard.

“That doesn’t help the mood,” the football finance expert exclusively told Goodison News.

“I think the choice of wording there was probably not the best.

Again, I think these things are huge issues at the minute and it’s difficult with both Everton and Nottingham Forest because Everton were under a different ownership regime when these regulations first came about and Forest were nowhere near the Premier League.

But, we have to remember that the clubs voted on this and now they’re getting held to task over it, it’s all unravelling a bit but those regulations have been there for several years.”

Premier League against Everton.

If there was an example of the Premier League looking down on Everton yet again, on or off the pitch, Masters letting his real thoughts slip was just that.

Everton have had their first appeal heard now and an answer is expected by the middle of February, and then the second charge will follow that.

With appeal barrister Lawrence Rabinowitz, KC, spotted in the stands against Tottenham on Saturday 3 February, fingers crossed he is hopeful of a positive outcome.

In other news, McCoist was left stunned by a “Crazy” moment in the draw v Tottenham.
