Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has told fans “the best is yet to come” after Saturday’s 2-1 win over Manchester United.
The Reds moved five points clear of the relegation zone after goals from Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White sealed a first home win over United since 1992. It was also their first win over the Red Devils in any competition since 1994.
And the club owner has shared his delight after Forest ended 2023 in style – they also recorded a memorable win at Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
“What an amazing team spirit, strength and passion,” he said on Instagram about Saturday’s thrilling victory. “A truly incredible atmosphere at the City Ground from our great fans!
“Wishing everyone a happy new year with health, love and happiness. We continue to write history together, the best is yet to come!”
Forest are next in action at home to Blackpool in the FA Cup third round on Sunday. Their next Premier League game comes on January 20 at Brentford.
