BBC pundit admits and apologies to nottingham forest

Glenn Murray has claimed that Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has already proved him wrong. The Portuguese boss has claimed two wins over Newcastle and Manchester United over the festive period.

Forest were brilliant throughout both games under Espirito Santo. In truth, they were hard done by against Bournemouth when a ridiculous decision from referee Rob Jones left them down to 10 men for over an hour.

Espirito Santo replaced Steve Cooper at Forest last month and Murray admitted he had reservations. Now, he’s in no doubt that Forest made the right call and has lauded the new head coach for the impact he’s made at the club.

Murray admits he was wrong about Forest head coach

It may only be three games in charge for Espirito Santo at Forest but so far the signs are good. Beating Newcastle and Manchester United should give the team confidence and Murray admits he’s been impressed.

He said on the Monday Night Club podcast: “I must say that when they got rid of Steve Cooper I did wonder about them. I did feel that under Steve Cooper they would be safe in the Premier League and I thought he did a fantastic job.

“I think you’ve got to be careful what you wish for with Nottingham Forest and where you want to go because for me the second season is often the hardest in the Premier League.

“But, I have to say, Nuno appears to have proven my theory wrong, he’s settled in very well and he’s offered a little bit more than Steve Cooper was, certainly going forward.”
