Andrey Santos caught attention of two premier league teams

Newcastle are showing an interest in Nottingham Forest loanee Andrey Santos with the midfielder due to be recalled back to Chelsea, according to reports.

The Brazilian joined Forest on a season-long loan from Stamford Bridge back in the summer. But, despite being highly rated at his parent club, he has struggled for game time at the City Ground.

The 19-year-old has made just one Premier League appearance for the Reds, a seven-minute cameo in a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool back in October. His only other appearance came in the Carabao Cup defeat vs Burnley in August.

The arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach has not changed Santos’ role at Forest. The midfielder has been left out of the squad entirely for the last nine Premier League games.

It’s perhaps no surprise then that it is reported that Chelsea are set to recall the player this month. It now seems that there is already interest in the teenager from around the Premier League.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea , Newcastle have already made enquiries on the availability of Santos. Any move from the Magpies would likely have to be a permanent deal due to Premier League loan rules.
