Newcastle United diehards to get Christmas bonus with Man United and Villa schedule…

It’s shaping up to be a quiet, yet hopefully productive Christmas for Newcastle United this year. Two festive crackers await with a home game against Aston Villa and a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, but in a festive period that’s always dominated by football matches, that represents the sum total of Newcastle’s endeavours over the holiday season.

Having played Ipswich Town on December 21st, the Boxing Day game against Villa and the Sunday December 29th trip to Manchester are Newcastle’s only action until a Saturday January 4th trip to Tottenham Hotspur. Two games in 14 days, it’s almost unheard of in any other month let alone across Christmas.

The schedule has allowed Newcastle supporters to start planning their Christmas celebrations around the games, however, as is always the case the fixture calendar is not nailed down yet and there’ still the chance of games and kick-off times moving for television. The good news for supporters is they don’t have much longer to wait to find out the festive schedule.

Following an agreement between the Premier League and the Football Supporters Association )FSA) in the summer, a timeframe was set out for when television companies could move games for broadcast. The initial timeframe on that has been confirmed to still be in place, meaning broadcasters have until Monday, October 14 to confirm all the TV games for December and January.

So if you’re booking a festive night out in between Christmas and New Year, or thinking about what to do the first weekend of 2025, just hang fire a few more days as the chances are Newcastle’s schedule will be changed in some regard.
