Newcastle Disagreement Of selling Kieran Trippier in January; Jonalist Details
This morning reports started swirling that Bayern Munich want Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier this month.
It seems that because journalists can’t link us with any incomings without it being immediately apparent that it’s total horseradish, they’re now trying to get us to believe that all of our best players are set to leave.
Thankfully, after Craig Hope ruined everyone’s Thursday evening by reporting that Joelinton could have played his last game for the club, he woke up on Friday morning on the right side of the bed and after reporting positive injury updates, he also put that Trippier rumour to bed too.
Craig Hope was quick to calm Newcastle fans down
Taking to X, Hope shared that there has been no approach made by Bayern for Trippier, and if there had it wouldn’t get beyond the initial enquiry.
As far as selling players in January goes, for us it is a non-starter unless they’re miles away from the first-team setup.
Javier Manquillo to Celta Vigo is fine as he’s more than surplus to requirements, but selling Kieran Trippier makes no sense.
Selling Trippier would make no sense
We put together a few reasons as to why it might happen, but honestly, we were clutching at straws. Any mishaps he’s had this season, and there have been a few, let’s be honest, but they’ve all paled in comparison to his positive impact on the team.
Now that Sven Botman is back and Jamaal Lascelles is on the bench again, Trippier is our on-field captain and his leadership along with his creativity going forward are far too important to lose.
We’re glad there’s no truth to this one even though we have probably been Trippier’s biggest critics this season.
