Leicester City Full Injury Update By Enzo Maresca
Losses to play-off contender Middlesbrough and promotion-chasing Leeds United are one thing, but manager Maresca will be quite concerned by a home loss to QPR.
The injury concerns around first-team players Pereira and Praet exacerbate the situation. The former was not there for the Championship match this past weekend, and Praet was replaced after just 16 minutes due to an injury.
In an interview with Leicestershire Live, Maresca gave an update regarding the two. confirming that both are hurt and may need to spend some time off.
He said, “Ricardo is hurt and won’t be back until after the international break.”
Dennis sustains another injury. As a midfielder, I played. Tuesday [against Sunderland] is probably when I can play for thirty-five minutes.
Need to get back to winning ways
The Leicester City boss shouldn’t be using injuries as an excuse at this stage in the season. Of course it doesn’t help matters but the Foxes have one of, if not the best squad in the entire division.
Praet hasn’t been a regular in the first-team fold all too often until recently and so they should have enough to get by without him. Pereira has been captain however, but they should still have players in reserve to fill the void over the next few weeks.
It will come as a blow to Maresca’s side given how importantly they need to get back to winning ways. Three defeats in a row is damaging for any side in any division, but they desperately need results, and having both players out of action will prove difficult to deal with.
