Tottenham’s 2024-25 home kit has leaked

Yup. You’ve got everything that makes a Tottenham Hotspur kit a Tottenham Hotspur kit. Let’s go down the checklist.

• Blue shorts √
• Red sponsor logo √
• Chicken-on-ball badge √
• Some sort of mildly unique trim that differentiates it from past Tottenham home kits √

Like, honestly, these are fine. Now, it’s pretty difficult to fuck up a white shirt and blue shorts, but wildly Nike has done that several times in recent history so we shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth here. Tottenham shirts are in a lot of ways a lot like, say, a Liverpool shirt or an Arsenal (gaak) shirt — at their best they don’t really change much year to year beyond a few minor details.

The biggest detail is the banded trim on the sleeves and the shorts, and that’s no doubt going to enrage some small percentage of Spurs fans because things like this always enrage some small percentage of Spurs fans. In fact, reaction to every kit release is probably 20% going “cool!”, 20% going “THESE KITS OFFEND ME PERSONALLY #LEVYOUT” and 60% going “meh, whatever.”

But for these kits specifically I kinda like them — the trim reminds me a lot of the trim on the UnderArmor Spurple 2016 third kits, which are one of my favorite kits of all time.
