Brisbane Broncos Honor Late Superfan in Unforgettable Game Moment”
*“Brisbane Broncos Honor Late Superfan in Unforgettable Game Moment”*
In an emotional twist that had the entire Suncorp Stadium in tears, the Brisbane Broncos paused last night’s match to honor 9-year-old Liam Harris, a lifelong Broncos fan who tragically passed away last month after a long battle with leukemia.
Before kick-off, players wore special jerseys with Liam’s name stitched under the crest, and a minute of silence was held in his memory. But the most powerful moment came in the 79th minute — just as the Broncos were leading by 2 points. The crowd suddenly erupted into chants of “For Liam!” as star player Adam Reynolds pointed to the sky and scored the final try.
After the game, Reynolds revealed Liam had told him in a hospital visit: “Score one for me when I’m gone.” With eyes full of tears, Reynolds said, “That try wasn’t mine. It was his.”
Fans have now launched a petition to name a junior stand at the stadium “Liam’s Corner” — a place where young fans can cheer on their heroes, just like he did.
