Nottingham Forest won’t sanction a loan deal for Orel Mangala during the January transfer window.

That is according to George

So, with clubs eyeing Mangala, what is the latest situation surrounding the Forest man? We take a closer look…

Mangala won’t be going out on loan this month

Well, it does appear as though Mangala is a wanted man and leaving Forest seems very likely – however, it won’t be on loan.

According to GEORGE, the Belgian player will not be allowed to leave the City Ground on a temporary basis and only a sale would be sanctioned.

Mangala arrived at Forest in the summer of 2022 for £12 million from Stuttgart and he’s been very impressive.

This season, Who Scored shows that he’s been the best Forest midfielder in terms of pass success and losing him wouldn’t be ideal

However, Mangala hasn’t started a game under Nuno Espirito Santo and was overlooked for the Blackpool game in the FA Cup last weekend.

The news surrounding a possible departure for the 25-year-old has come out of the blue and losing him wouldn’t be ideal.

With clubs such as Napoli and Juventus eyeing moves, however, it could be that Mangala is actually keen to leave.

Ultimately, when a manager comes to a new club there will always be players who don’t fit into their plans.

In this instance, Mangala looks like one of the fall guys and in fairness, the Forest squad is far too big

The man with 12 caps for his country will be wanting to play for Belgium at the Euros next summer and to do that he will need to be playing.

Mangala has made 49 appearances for Forest but now, reaching 50 might not be on the cards and it will be interesting to see if the club does manage to sell him this month.
