Nottingham Forest to sell a 25-year-old “real talent” in January.

So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest defensive midfielder Orel Mangala? Let’s take a look.

Nottingham Forest want to sell Orel Mangala

Well, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri on X, Napoli are interested in signing Orel Mangala from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.

The report has claimed that Napoli, who won Serie A last season, want to secure the services of Mangala on a loan deal

However, Forest are “looking to sell” the Belgium international defensive midfielder, described as “a real talent” by Roberto Martinez in March 2022.

As you can see, Tavolieri had earlier reported that Mangala has been offered to Italian giants Napoli and Juventus.

Galatasaray have also been linked with the defensive midfielder. There is speculation that the Turkish club have already put in an offer for Mangala.Napoli are reportedly in advanced talks over a deal for the 25-year-old, who has struggled to keep his place in the Forest starting lineup since Nuno replaced Steve Cooper as the manager last month.

My View: Nottingham Forest should keep Orel Mangala

In my opinion, it would be a mistake for Nottingham Forest if they sold Orel Mangala in the January transfer window.

While I understand that Forest head coach Nuno may not fancy the Belgian, we must not ignore the fact that he has done well for the Reds in the Premier League.

Let us also not forget that Forest are still in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. The Reds need players like Mangala in the squad in the coming weeks and months.

Mangala has made 45 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The defensive midfielder has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.
