Timo Werner is in the building at Tottenham Hotspur and starting to get comfortable in a familiar environment, just for a different team.

netsport.uk about the former Chelsea striker’s loan move to Hotspur Way, with the north London club having the option to buy the RB Leipzig player for £15.5 million at the end of the season.

On Wednesday, Timo Werner posted about his first day at training on Instagram and Tottenham fans will be excited by his response.

The 27-year-old stated that ‘it felt pretty good’ as he is preparing to be thrown straight into the deep end ahead of the Sunday showdown against Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will make the trip to Old Trafford, where you would expect Timo Werner to make his Spurs debut and second Premier League debut.

Former Chelsea players, who have departed after struggling at Stamford Bridge, have returned before and proven people wrong.

There is no reason why the Germany international can’t do the same during these coming months as Tottenham aim to return to the Champions League.

“First day as a Spurs,” said Werner. “It felt pretty good.”

Will Timo Werner prove critics wrong?

It probably helps the player that there is a low ceiling for him upon his return to English football’s top flight.

That way, if he does slightly better, then it will be seen as a positive.

What will help Werner in these coming months is the fact that the goalscoring burden is on other players and is being taken up by the likes of Son Heung-min, who is away on international duty, the in-form Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, even someone like James Maddison.

This will allow the speed merchant to settle in quicker and much better than he did when he first joined Chelsea
