Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have been linked with Roberto Firmino this month and Ben Jacobs has been discussing the Brazilian.
The journalist has been speaking with TalkSPORT this morning.
So, what has Jacobs had to say about Forest-linked striker Firmino? Let’s take a closer look…
Jacobs on future of Roberto Firmino amid Forest interest
The reputable journalist specialises in transfer stories and he’s usually got his finger on the pulse with a host of players.
He’s not been discussing Firmino who has been linked with Forest, Fulham and Crystal Palace this month.
Jacobs has perhaps provided a bit of hope for any interested party, believing that the player will now leave Al-Ahli this month.
He told TalkSPORT (08/01; 7:43pm): “So, Bobby Firmino is a possible exit and interestingly, unlike Jordan Henderson, I’m told the club want to push Firmino to leave because they don’t think he’s a tactical fit and they’re not getting their value for money.
When Firmino was at Liverpool he was praised by Jurgen Klopp. The Forest-linked player was called ‘world-class’ and he served the Anfield giants with distinction.
Firmino capture feels unlikely in January
The Reds will want to avoid signing players who are going to cost a fortune this month and on around £300,000-a-week, Firmino is hardly going to be a bargain pick-up.
There is no denying his quality in the Premier League, however. He enjoyed a brilliant time of things with Liverpool and helped them to Premier League and Champions League glory.
This season, however, the Forest-linked Firmino has scored just three times, with all of those coming during his first appearance for the club. Lately, he’s been considered a sub and now he wants to leave.
Forest do need a striker this month. However, it’s unlikely that it will be Firmino, with the Reds surely set to be more resourceful and sign a younger striker who can challenge Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood.
