Issues Nuno had with Morgan Gibbs-White at Wolverhampton Wanderers

Well, Nuno is now the new manager of Nottingham Forest. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has replaced Steve Cooper at the City Ground.

One of the current Forest first-team players Nuno is already familiar with is Morgan Gibbs-White. The Portuguese boss had him at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gibbs-White came through the Wolves’ youth academy and played for the first team before moving to Forest in 2022. Nuno was in charge of the Wanderers from the summer of 2017 until the summer of 2021.

According to The Athletic, while at Wolves, Nuno thought that Gibbs-White could not play in his “tried-and-trusted 3-4-3 formation”.

The former FC Porto manager did not think that the midfielder was disciplined. Nuno also felt that Gibbs-White did not have enough experience to play week in and week out for his Wolves team.

The midfielder’s discipline was deemed lacking by the former FC Porto manager. In Nuno’s opinion, Gibbs-White lacked the necessary experience to consistently play for his Wolves club.

The youngster has made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest so far this season.

Gibbs-White, who has played out wide, down the middle as a central striker and in an attacking midfield role for the Reds this season, has scored one goal and given two assists in those games.
