Published

on

Antony, who plays for Manchester United, is injured and couldn’t play in the game against Everton. He got hurt and isn’t ready to play in matches yet.

Because Antony can’t play, Joe Hugill, a young player from Manchester United’s training program, got a chance to be part of the team in the Everton game. This is the first time the 20-year-old is in the squad for a big game.

Manchester United is also missing another player, Rasmus Hojlund. He couldn’t pass a fitness test because he hurt his hamstring in a game against Luton Town on November 11, where Manchester United won 1-0.

Lisandro Martinez (foot), Jonny Evans (thigh), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Casemiro (hamstring), Mason Mount (calf) and Christian Eriksen (knee) are among the United absentees.

Everton is the first of 10 games in 34 days for United and their season has been plagued by injury issues.

Kobbie Mainoo, 18, is starting at Everton for the first time since he sustained a knee injury in the pre-season friendly against Real Madrid in Houston on July 26.
