BREAKING; JUVENTUS HOLD TALKS WITH TOTTENHAM FOR PIERRE-EMILE HØJBJERG
Juventus is in severe need of a midfield player for January, and they have lately discussed Pierre-Emile Højbjerg with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Bianconeri have gained the player’s readiness to transfer after being linked to a move for Kalvin Phillips in recent days. Amidst talk of Spurs’ exorbitant price tag, they are still investigating other ideas, and the chance of acquiring Højbjerg does not go away.Netsport.uk report today that while Manchester City would be open to letting Phillips depart in January, both Giovanni Manna and sporting director Cristiano Guintoli are also keen on making sure that they sign another midfielder.
They were in London recently, as widely reported already, and they didn’t just speak to the agency that represents Phillips. They also held exploratory talks with Spurs for their Danish midfielder. The English giants made it clear that they would only let the player leave on a permanent transfer, seeking a fee of €30 million.
On top of that, they aren’t fully convinced about whether they should allow Højbjerg to leave because Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr will leave for the AFCON next year, leaving them without too many options. But the Dane’s intentions can be vital, as he would like an exit amidst reduced playing time.
One of Juve’s concerns is Højbjerg’s lack of knowledge of the Serie A, which makes Rodrigo de Paul a concrete option.
