Coventry City Boss  Review The Fact About The New Contract Of A Star Player

Regarding Callum O’Hare’s contract status, Mark Robins has stated that he is “calm” about the fact that the Coventry City player has not yet signed a new agreement.

The offensive midfielder for the Sky Blues is almost ready to go back into the starting lineup after suffering an ACL injury on Boxing Day of last season. He is currently recovering ahead of schedule. However, the main concern among supporters is whether the former Aston Villa prospect will remain at the Coventry Building Society for an extended period of time.

O’Hare is in the final year of his current deal and will therefore be out of contract next summer and able to leave City as a free agent unless he commits to fresh terms. The club are understood to have opened negotiations with the 25-year-old but it’s unclear at this stage where those talks are at, or the player’s feelings on the matter.

Robins clearly wants to keep the talent but asked if there’s any progress on the matter, and whether he’s confident or hopeful that O’Hare will sign, he told CoventryLive: “I’m neither. I’m sort of calm with everything. We’ll see. I think that will resolve one way or another. It is what it is. If a player wants to stay, and I’m not talking about Callum specifically, but if a player wants to stay, they sign a contract. If they don’t want to stay, they don’t. It is as simple as that.

We constantly strive to act in everyone’s best interests, with the football team coming first. The players have a great deal of influence and a personal stake in the outcome. In the end, though, and simply talking about Callum specifically, I believe that his only concentration is returning to the game. When they follow, the other things will come next.
