Tottenham Reject Star, Remarkably provided two assists with a famous result

Tottenham Hotspur undoubtedly did not anticipate hearing that Davinson Sanchez had marked his Champions League debut for Galatasaray by having a significant influence in the final third when they traded him a month ago.

The Colombian made 207 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, but only managed one assist. But in his first month with Gala, he has already eclipsed that total.

Davinson Sanchez remarkably provided two assists as the Turkish club left Old Trafford with a famous result on Tuesday night, beating Manchester United 3-2.

Wilfried Zaha received the visitors’ first goal thanks to the 27-year-old. And in the end, he assisted Mauro Icardi on what turned out to be the game-winning goal. It happened shortly after the striker missed the post with his penalty kick.

Galatasaray’s Davinson Sanchez contributes two assists on his Champions League debut.
Sanchez’s two assists will hardly make Tottenham feel as though they were mistaken to let him go in September, of course.

Unfortunately, he never got that close to living up to expectations during his time in North London. And it seemed to be a decent piece of business to get nearly £13 million for him when Galatasaray came calling.

Mixed night for the defender

It was certainly not a perfect performance from Sanchez on the night. Obviously, he will not be pleased that United scored twice, with him slipping in the build up to the home side’s second goal

He did, however, succeed in clearing the ball five times, which was more than any other player on the field, according to Whoscored. He triumphed in three aerial duels as well.

Having said that, Tottenham supporters will be happy to see Micky van de Ven playing with Cristian Romero. The cooperation between the two seems to have a ton of potential. And Spurs have made significant progress in a very short period of time.
