Report; Athletic released The Highest Forest Paid Prayer Per Week

Chris Wood, a striker for Nottingham Forest, has been named the Reds’ highest-paid player.

Today, The Athletic published an article listing every Premier League team and the player with the highest weekly salary.

Journalist Paul Taylor verified that the 31-year-old striker makes a reported £90,000 per week in the Forest section.

New signings Ibrahim Sangare, Nicolas Dominguez and Divock Origi are all said to earn a figure in a similar ballpark, with the latter on around £90,000-£100,000-a-week at AC Milan.

However, it remains unknown how much of Origi’s salary the Reds are covering.

Steve Cooper’s side have made some fantastic signings over the last year since their return to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

Unfortunately, the signing of Wood from Newcastle United looks to have been a disappointing deal.

The New Zealand forward originally joined the Reds on loan with an obligation to buy, when Wood played a certain amount of games for the club.

This summer, his contract was extended for another year at a cost of £15 million, with the striker earning £90,000 per week.

If the Reds decide not to extend his contract, the club would have invested over £20 million in the 31-year-old, who may only play at the City Ground for one season.

He has provided key goals for the club against Manchester City and Sheffield United, but all things considered, the deal to sign the striker has been a disappointment.
