Spurs in Negotiation of Personal Conditions with Goalkeeper Associated with Man Utd
Rumors had been swirling that Manchester United was considering a transfer for Brentford’s goalkeeper, David Raya.
Following this speculation, and in conjunction with Brentford’s purported £40 million price tag, it was reported by Sky Sports that both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were hesitant to fulfill those financial requirements.
Multiple goalkeepers have been associated with Manchester United this summer, as Erik ten Hag is intent on amplifying competition, at the very least, for David de Gea. With an impressive season at Brentford under his belt, Raya is currently leading the race for Spain, even surpassing our No 1 pick.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has disclosed that Tottenham initiated discussions with Raya about a summer move. The talks have been fruitful, with both parties nearing a consensus on personal terms.

A transfer to Tottenham could be seen as a moderate advancement in his career, yet it wouldn’t compare to joining a prestigious club like United.
Raya, the Spaniard, is approaching the final year of his contract. This could potentially explain why United are hesitant to shell out £40m for his services.
Ten Hag is on the hunt for a keeper, akin to Raya, who can aid the team in establishing a solid defence from the back. This is an aspect we lack when De Gea is on the field.
Another goalkeeper speculated for a potential move to United is FC Porto’s Diogo Costa, who also occupies the position of first-choice keeper for Portugal.
It remains to be seen if United will try to reach out to Raya.
