JUST IN: Birmingham City Boss “Secretly” Revealed Terms Of Job Bellingham Deal With The Blues, And Why He’s The Only Candidate That…

Jobe Bellingham in new transfer tug-of-war as Birmingham City start counting the cash

Latest Birmingham City transfer news from BirminghamLive as Chelsea are reported to be keen on younger of Bellingham brothers

Blues’ brothers Jude and Jobe Bellingham might just get the chance to face each other in the Champions League if one club get their transfer wish this summer.

The Stourbridge-born brothers Bellingham came through the ranks at Birmingham City, the elder Jude now starring for Real Madrid after a spell in Germany with Borussia Dortmund before heading for Spain.

As for Jobe, he has taken a more prosaic career route, opting to leave St Andrew’s for Sunderland the summer before last, but now his star is also starting to shine, so much so that Chelsea are reported to be keen on acquiring his services

Sun transfer expert Alan Nixon claims 19-year-old Jobe could be sold by the Black Cats this summer – and is wanted by Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen – and Todd Boehly’s Chelsea.

He writes: “Chelsea have been busy signing players from all around the globe under billionaire Boehly and his US investment group. Now they want a strong domestic presence in Enzo Maresca’s squad

“Ex-Birmingham whizkid Bellingham is in England’s under-21 set-up and one of the better players emerging, so he fits the bill perfectly.”

Domestically, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are also said to be keen on Bellingham the younger, although Sunderland themselves are hoping to win promotion and thereby convince him to stay on Wearside.

As Nixon adds: “Moving to Bundesliga side Dortmund worked wonders for Jude, but Jobe may be happy to go his own way and play in the top flight at home.” And for Boehly, that would mean a move to Stamford Bridge.

Jobe Bellingham has scored four goals and assisted in three more in 32 Championship appearances for Sunderland this season after a seven-goal haul last term.

It has been claimed that Birmingham City will be entitled to a small percentage of the fee Sunderland eventually bank for the youngster, who is rated at around £20m. The Daily Mail says Blues inserted a 15 percent sell-on clause in the deal which took Jobe to Sunderland in 2023.

As things stand, Chelsea remain on course to be playing Champions League football next season. Ahead of today’s game against struggling Leicester City, they are fifth in the Premier League table, and could leapfrog Manchester City into fourth with a win.
