Bolton Wanderers man expected to return to training ahead of Burton Albion clash
Bolton Wanderers defender Will Forrester is expected to return to training by the end of the week, as detailed in a report by The Bolton News.
Bolton Wanderers’ centre-back has been sidelined with a minor hamstring. BWFC are hoping he can return to selection this weekend
Forrester, 23, played in the Trotters’ 0-0 draw away at Wrexham last Saturday and caught the eye. However, he sat out of their home clash against Birmingham City on Tuesday night as they ran out 3-1 winners.
In this latest update regarding his condition, The Bolton News report he is poised to be back out on the grass with his teammates over the next couple of days. Chris Forino stood in for him against the Blues last time out.
The North West outfit are sat in 7th place in the table and are a point outside the play-offs behind Huddersfield Town with a game in-hand. They have 12 fixtures left to play.
Bolton Wanderers injury latest regarding Will Forrester
Getting Forrester available will be a boost for Bolton Wanderers as they look to keep their momentum going.
Schumacher will have a big decision to make between him and Forino
Forrester, who is from Cheshire, has made 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 17 of which have come in the league.
Bolton Wanderers landed him back in 2023 and he is under contract until June 2026.
He gives the Trotters more competition and depth at the back.
Forrester started his career at Stoke City and rose up through their academy ranks.
He was a regular for the Potters at various different youth levels as a youngster before going on to play four times for their first-team.
The centre-back was loaned out by the Staffordshire club to Mansfield Town to get some experience under his belt.
Port Vale then snapped him up on a permanent basis in 2022 and he became a key player for the Valiants.
Forrester made 38 outings during his year at Vale Park and found the net twice from the back before Bolton Wanderers came calling.
What now for Bolton Wanderers?
The Trotters will make checks on the player over the next 48 hours or so and see whether he is fit to play a part on Saturday.
They are in action with an away trip to the Pirelli Stadium as they prepare to face Burton Albion.
