Bolton Wanderers Boss “Blow Hot” After Match Victory! Says What He Expected Is Not What To…

‘Come on’ – Steven Schumacher eager for more from ‘explosive’ Bolton Wanderers ace

Bolton Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher has said he expects more from Jordi Osei-Tutu after his Birmingham City performance.

Bolton Wanderers have not had the best of seasons, but they are hitting form at the right time after the appointment of Steven Schumacher. Schumacher has picked up 13 points from five games since losing his first in charge of BWFC.

He has quickly made his mark at Bolton, who are in a good position to secure a play-off place this season. Now, after a brilliant 3-1 win over table toppers Birmingham City, Schumacher has called for more from one of the Trotters’ summer signings.

Speaking after the game, Schumacher called out Jordi Osei-Tutu after his excellent performance in the win. After an electric display against the Blues, the former Arsenal youngster was called upon to show his best on a more consistent basis.

As relayed by The Bolton News, the Bolton Wanderers boss said:

“There are some times when he (Osei-Tutu) has a tendency to go through the motions.

Just sometimes you look and say ‘come on’ and want a bit more from him but explosive players like Jordi can be a bit like that, can’t they?

“They get you off your seat and it isn’t easy to do that every single week. But we will keep pushing him, keep trying to demand him to increase his standards as best as he can, and I’m sure he’ll be a massive player for us.”

Fresh start with Schumacher

Osei-Tutu has been the main beneficiary at Bolton Wanderers since Schumacher arrived last month. He has already started more games under the new boss than he did in the first 28 games of the campaign.

Under Ian Evatt he was used as a substitute for the majority, but he has now made the left wing-back role his own at BWFC.

Big things were expected from Osei-Tutu, who arrived with Bundesliga experience at VfL Bochum and Championship experience with Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest.

After a poor first half of the campaign, Bolton are starting to see his best. In the last five games, he has averaged a 7.42 match rating, according to Format.

Opportunity coming this week

After picking seven points in their last three games, all against sides in the top six, Bolton Wanderers have a big chance to push on this week.

Back-to-back away trips to Burton Albion and Bristol Rovers are coming up.

Two wins could have BWFC in the top six before 4th place Stockport County come to the ToughSheet Community Stadium in a massive game next weekend.
