Leicester City transfer news & rumours: Wout Faes update whilst £15m bid submitted

The January transfer window is in full swing and Leicester City are starting to see movement, finally.

French right-back Woyo Coulibaly has completed a £3m transfer to Leicester after impressing in Serie A with Parma.

Ruu van Nistelrooy phoned Enzo Maresca to get the lowdown on Coulibaly, who worked with the Chelsea boss in Italy.

All talks were positive and City pulled the trigger, landing their man on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Coulibaly could make his debut against Fulham this weekend, as Leicester welcome them to the King Power Stadium

Leicester are now turning their attention to other targets but there’s been more focus on two possible departures over the last 24 hours

Lazio submit Wout Faes bid

On Thursday afternoon, it emerged that Serie A giants Lazio have submitted a loan bid to sign Leicester’s Wout Faes.

The bid is reportedly a loan with an option to buy, so City are unlikely to accept those terms given they’re demanding around £15m for his signature.

Faes has been sidelined for most of van Nistelrooy’s tenure but did start the clash against Crystal Palace earlier this week.

So perhaps the Dutchman may change his stance on the Belgian and decide to keep him this month.

Atlanta United submit £15m bid for Odsonne Edouard

Another possible departure is Odsonne Edouard, who hasn’t made an appearance since van Nistelrooy’s arrival.

Atlanta United have submitted a £15m bid for Edouard and it’s understood Leicester are keen for him to move on.

The 27-year-old striker is on a season-long loan from Palace and they’d reportedly like to cut that short but it’s ultimately up to the Eagles where his future lies.

A telling couple of weeks lie ahead for the East Midlanders.
