Know everything about Bayer Leverkusen New sign contract

Has Florian Wirtz signed a new contract at Bayer Leverkusen? Earlier this week, German magazine Kicker reported that Wirtz had not only agreed to a new deal but had already signed it. The report suggested that Wirtz had agreed to extend his contract from 2027 to at least 2028. The deal would also significantly increase his salary and make him the highest earner at the club.

According to the site netsport, Wirtz currently earns €4.5 million ($4.71m) at Leverkusen. The site lists Nordi Mukiele, who is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, as the highest-paid player. Among permanent Leverkusen players, Alejandro Grimaldo and Patrik Schick are on €6 million ($6.28 million) each. There is no doubt that the new Wirtz deal will surpass those figures.

The real question at this stage is whether Wirtz has actually signed a new contract. According to Kicker, that is already the case. The magazine published a breaking news story on Dec. 16, 2024, suggesting that not only is an agreement in place but that a deal has been signed.

That story prompted an official statement by Bayer Leverkusen. “Bayer 04 has enjoyed a very trusting and close relationship with Florian Wirtz and his family for many years,” the statement read. “Contractual matters will continue to be discussed exclusively between the Bayer 04 management and the Wirtz family.”

The statement then continued: “Should there be any changes to the current contractual situation (until 2027), Bayer 04 will, of course, continue to deal with this as before and in agreement with the Wirtz family. We ask for your understanding that we will not comment further on this topic.”
