Birmingham City Boss Chris Davies In Fresh “Sorrows” As Another Big Injury Blow Emerged, And He Want To..

Exeter City v Birmingham City injury news as 6 out and 2 doubts

Latest injury and team news ahead of Exeter City v Birmingham City in the EFL League One.

Birmingham City will be looking for a response when they travel to St James Park to face Exeter City on Tuesday (November 26).

Blues are playing the Grecians in a rearranged fixture that was due to take place in September but was called off due to international call-ups. Birmingham lost to Shrewsbury Town at the weekend, and will hope to use this game as an ability to bounce back from the shock defeat

A win for Birmingham could take them back in to the top two after Wrexham and Stockport County overtook them following wins against Exeter and Burton Albion. For Exeter, a win in front of their own supporters could see them go as high as sixth depending on their margin of victory

Birmingham City team news

Alfons Sampsted is facing a couple of weeks on the sidelines. He rolled his ankle whilst playing for Iceland earlier this month.

Emil Hansson and Scott Wright are both unavailable due to injury. Neither of them are expected to return from injury ‘imminently’ and are working their way back from their knocks. The pair still out for ‘hopefully only a few weeks’ according to manager Chris Davies.

Lee Buchanan is still working his way back from a calf problem. He suffered an injury in pre-season that put him out until mid-September, and then as he was on the cusp of a return, he suffered a setback.

The former Derby County left-back could soon find himself back in contention. Chris Davies spoke of Buchanan potentially playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly to build up his match fitness, and that would make him available in the next few weeks.

Luke Harris recovered from an illness that forced him to withdraw from international duty with Wales to start at the weekend. Keshi Anderson was replaced in the 34th minute at the weekend for Lyndon Dykes, but was not carrying an injury.

Exeter City team news

Johnly Yfeko has a hamstring injury that he suffered at the end of October. He’s expected to be out for between eight to 10 weeks. Central midfielder Reece Cole is also absent. He’s been missing for the last three games.

Yanic Wildschut is a long-term absentee. He damaged his knee ligaments in a pre-season friendly and has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

An injury in the warm-up saw Millenic Alli withdraw just before kick-off. It’s unsure yet whether Ryan Woods will be unavailable. He was given two yellows against Lincoln City which saw him miss out against Wrexham, but those cards took his tally for the season up to five, and so that would result in an automatic one game ban.

Out: Johnly Yfeko and Yanic Wildschut. Doubt: Millenic Alli and Ryan Woods
