Wolves fc “Revealed” Another Big Challenge They Are In Which Includes Their Stars…
Worrying Santiago Bueno update emerges as Wolves prepare to face Fulham
Wolves are looking to build on their win over Southampton against Fulham this weekend, but Gary O’Neil appears to have one big concern heading into the game.
Wolves beat Southampton 2-0 in the latest game to get their first Premier League victory of the season.
Matheus Cunha was the star of the show for the hosts, and was essentially the difference between the two teams. Wolves were not particularly good at Molineux, and there is still plenty of work to be done.
Wolves now need to follow that result up against Fulham, but the Cottagers have been superb this season and it’ll be a tough game.
Ideally, Gary O’Neil will have all of his players fit and ready to play.
But it seems one man who’s been getting better with every game recently is an early doubt for the clash.
Santiago Bueno withdraws from Uruguay squad at Wolves’ request
It was reported a few days ago that Santiago Bueno was nursing a groin injury. Despite this, he still joined up with the Uruguay national team.
But he played no part against Colombia, not even making the matchday squad.
The situation doesn’t sound particularly good, with the Uruguayan FA confirming that Bueno has actually now left the squad.
A statement from them read (via AUF): “The defender who competes in the Premier League arrived in Uruguay as a call-up with a discomfort from the last match with Wolverhampton.
“In coordination with Wolves, studies were carried out and work was done to make him available for the matches of the FIFA Date
His club, in the early hours of Sunday 17/11, officially requested that the footballer return. Given this request and prioritizing the health of the athlete, Santiago will not travel to Brazil and the call is unaffected.”
A big concern for Gary O’Neil
News of Bueno pulling out of the Uruguay squad is worrying.
He had an issue before even heading to South America and it sounds somewhat problematic and O’Neil will likely be sweating on his fitness ahead of this weekend’s big game with Fulham.
Bueno, who signed for Wolves for £8.5 million, has been much improved in recent weeks.
He’s finally getting a run in the team following the injury to Yerson Mosquera, and his partnership with Craig Dawson has been looking better lately.
Wolves have looked better after switching to a back three, but if Bueno is going to miss out then that is potentially quite worrying, with there being no other natural centre-halves.
O’Neil may be forced to return to a back four, or he may have to shoehorn someone like Mario Lemina or Nelson Semedo into Bueno’s position as a right-sided centre-back.
