“Missed Opportunity: Premier League Club Reconsiders Letting Nottingham Forest Acquire £40,000-a-Week Star”?

Nottingham Forest roared to another win on Friday night as Leicester City were put to the sword at the King Power Stadium….

The Reds won thanks to two goals from Chris Wood and a superb goal by Ryan Yates who opened the scoring in the first half. The win has prompted Gary Neville to predict a top-half finish for the Reds this season and it’s an exciting time to be a Forest fan.Right now, the Reds are reaping the rewards of a very meticulous recruitment drive during the summer transfer window.Nikola Milenkovic has made the world of difference at the back, whilst there is now two options for pretty much every position on the pitch.

Forest haven’t been able to call upon Morgan Gibbs-White since playing Chelsea before the recent international break. The player twisted his ankle during that fixture and although he was suspended for the game with Crystal Palace he was eligible to play on Friday.

He didn’t make it, however, and that allowed Anderson to keep his place in the number 10 role. It’s now been claimed that Newcastle are seriously regretting the decision to let Forest buy the £40,000-a-week Anderson from them in the summer. The I-Paper has claimed that Eddie Howe really didn’t want Anderson to leave but PSR meant that his hands were tied.Their loss is Forest’s gain and once again on Friday, he was in sensational form for the Reds against Leicester.

It was really great to see Anderson be the star of the show against Leicester and it’s fair to say that he’s growing as a player with Forest. The season might only be nine games old but Anderson has already played in a number of positions for the Reds. He’s showcasing a large amount of versatility under Nuno Espirito Santo but he will want to ensure he keeps a place in the team. When Gibbs-White is fit there is a serious selection headache for the head coach to contend with and that can only be a good thing.Anderson is a superb signing from a Forest perspective and hopefully, he can continue starring as the season progresses.

All that Nottingham Forest fans will be thinking right now is about the potential of European football, with fifth position in the Premier League now ours for the time being. It remains to be seen as to whether the Reds can maintain their fine form with the tough run of fixtures coming up against two of the top three. However, the positive is that Nuno Espirito Santo will return for the tough run of fixtures, as he has just one game left in his suspension which will come against West Ham.It was actually a blessing in disguise for Forest last time out against Crystal Palace, as Nuno Espirito Santo spotted an issue from his vantage point to address. It was the turn of Steve Cooper to speak out after the loss to Nottingham Forest, and he blamed the loss on one thing.

Leicester City controlled the game in terms of possession, but Nottingham Forest had nine more shots and were far more ruthless in front of goal.Chris Wood is largely to thank for that, as his two goals were what proved to be the difference…
