Big risk’: Collingwood warned over current trade strategy

Matthew Lloyd believes Collingwood is taking a “big risk” going after players and not picks during the trade period.

The Pies have already signed free agent Harry Perryman, while are also reportedly in the box seat to land Dan Houston from Port Adelaide.

Speaking on 3AW Football’s trade podcast, Lloyd said their ageing list profile meant they should be looking to the draft more.

I think there’s a big risk (Collingwood is taking),” Lloyd said.

“I heard Craig McRae saying ‘we don’t want picks, we want players’ – that is a risk in my opinion.”
