Terrifying: Sean Dyche has picked who he wants to replace Jarrad Branthwaite for Everton vs Newcastle

Sean Dyche has been dealt a blow ahead of the Newcastle clash, with Jarrad Branthwaite looking like he’ll have to sit this one out.

Jarrad Branthwaite had only just returned from an injury which has kept him out for a while, and now he’s set for another period out.

It’s believed that the injury isn’t too bad, with a very outside chance that he could make the clash with Newcastle, but Everton fans aren’t too happy.

However, it’s unlikely that Sean Dyche will want to risk him being out for even longer as the international break is right around the corner.

This has sparked talks over who could be the man to potentially replace Branthwaite, with Michael Keane and Jake O’Brien the two most likely options, depending on what formation he plays.

However, it appears as if he’s already made his pick.

Tony Cascarino has already called out Everton fans for scapegoating Michael Keane this season.

Jake O’Brien has had to be patient for his chances, much to the disappointment of Everton fans, after spending £17 million on him in the summer.

Now, Paul Joyce has claimed that Dyche has already picked Michael Keane as the player to be on standby.

Michael Keane’s season to date at Everton

Michael Keane hasn’t had the best of seasons by any standards.

Despite a number of disappointing performances, Sean Dyche has stuck by the defender for the majority of the current campaign.

However, he was dropped for the return of Jarrad Branthwaite, which resulted in the Toffees picking up their first win of the season.

Now, it looks as if he’s set to return to a centre-back partnership of Keane and James Tarkowski.

O’Brien must have done something seriously wrong to not even deserve a look-in.
