Amanda Staveley wants to buy a stake in Tottenham before the end of the year.

Daniel Levy has been looking for an investor for some time now. The North London club’s chairman wants to ensure Spurs continue to grow in similar fashion and for it to happen, he wants to bring in more money. He is seeking a new investor who can not only bring fresh capital but also support and align with his vision for the club.A source close to the deal revealed to Mirror: “Amanda is serious about being involved with Spurs, and is hoping that an initial purchase can be completed within weeks.”

While they have been in talks with quite a few parties, nothing concrete has happened so far. However, a report from the Mirror suggests there is a major development taking place. Amanda Staveley who helped broker Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund’s £305 million takeover of Newcastle United is keen on buying a minority stake in Tottenham.

Along with her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, she held an important position on the Magpies’ board. But, they had a painful departure and are now considering making a return to the Premier League.
She wants to own a club and is looking to buy a stake in the North London club with the help of some investors from the Middle East. Staveley wants to get it done before the end of the year and Levy will surely be interested in it as it will help him get more control of the club.

Joe Lewis’ influence has been declining with his shares are now held in a family trust. As a result, a new minority owner does seem to be a much-needed change. Staveley and her husband were guests at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when they hosted Brentford which does suggest that they are in advanced talks regarding an investment in the club.
