Daniel Farke Addressed the issues HE is facing with another club “But I must sort out HE say”
Leeds United’s trip to Cardiff City saw Daniel Farke’s side secure three points and a clean sheet away from home and in the Championship, that is always an excellent result.
No matter the opposition. But scratch beneath the surface and it was a game full of frustration, Leeds fans questioning Farke’s tactics and even Farke himself bemoaning Leeds’ inability to win earlier than they did.
Ilia Gruev is renowned for being a defensive-minded midfielder, but even a backwards pass from Gruev drew Leeds boos. There are issues from the 2-0 win that Farke must sort before Coventry come to Leeds.
Farke must sort out Leeds’ lack of precision in front of goal
It is an issue. In games against Portsmouth, Hull, Burnley and now Cardiff, Leeds have been guilty of failing to score guilt-edged chances. It is as if Leeds need three massive chances just to score one goal.
On Saturday, Largie Ramazani opened his account but then missed a golden chance from eight yards out while Pascal Struijk’s missed a penalty. One player though, is scoring efficiently in this Leeds side.
His name is Joel Piroe. A player that Farke said is the Championship’s best finisher and after scoring just three minutes into his cameo against Coventry, perhaps it is time Farke gives him a deserved start up top.
Joe Rodon and Illan Meslier beef must be quashed
The Leeds duo were at it again on Saturday. Against Norwich in the first Championship play-off semi-final, Rodon was berating Meslier for a nervy display with the ball at his feet, passes going out of play.
On Saturday, it happened again and Rodon was not impressed. The Wales defender sets high standards at Leeds and Rodon ‘slapped his thighs’ as a Meslier pass went astray, with Rodon moving into position.
