Arsenal re-ignite interest in Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley

Earlier this summer, Arsenal’s interest in Dan Bentley was reported, as Mikel Arteta’s side eye a new second-choice goalkeeper.

Plenty of business is set to unfold at Wolves before deadline day, with one player’s future now up in the air.

From arrivals to departures, Gary O’Neil is braced for significant change within his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday night.

Wolves are in desperate need of several new faces, with a central defender and a winger being the priority.

As well as arrivals, it’s necessary that the club offload a list of players who have uncertain futures at Molineux, with one figure’s situation now resurfacing.

The dream would have been to strike a deal for some sort of exchange although, Wolves’ move for Aaron Ramsdale is now off, despite heavy speculation.

Despite the possibility of the Old Gold signing Ramsdale ending, Arsenal have not concluded their pursuit of Bentley.

Report: Wolves now eye relegated duo, including £10k-a-week player Rob Edwards called ‘brilliant’

Links between the North Londoners and the goalkeeper went quiet after Wolves rejected an offer deemed too low.

Now, The Athletic have reported that Bentley is ‘now under consideration’ at Arsenal although, their primary target is said to be Wigan Athletic’s Sam Tickle.

Bentley transfer makes sense on one condition

Wolves are closing in on Sam Johnstone to bolster their options in goal, making an exit for Bentley sensible as the £10k-a-week ‘keeper would fall down the pecking order.

That being said, Johnstone’s pending arrival doesn’t necessarily represent competition for Jose Sa, with reports suggesting that the Portugal international could leave.

Sa’s agents are considering Saudi offers, which could impact whether Bentley gets his move to the Emirates or not.

Given the current state of O’Neil’s squad, welcoming one new face and offloading two would make little sense, as Wolves are already incredibly low on depth.

It’s assumed that Sa’s future will play a part in Bentley’s proposed move to Arsenal and of course, whether the Guseal their primary target, Tickle.

Wolves fans have a laser focus on the transfer window right now, but there is also the small matter of tonight’s game in the Carabao Cup against Burnley.

Supporters have everything crossed for a strong finish to the summer window, after weeks of no incoming activity.

Wolves Kicked off positively this summer by signing Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

But Wolves have been very quiet for weeks and the two defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea have left some a little nervous right now.

A win tonight against Burnley would help the mood – and it could be a fairly significant evening for Wolves winger Chiquinho.
