“Judge’s Slump Deepens: Is the AL Home Run King in Trouble?”

Published

on

The Yankees have another series hanging in the balance today.

The Yankees followed up their opening game of the series with a dud, getting silenced by Patrick Corbin in the year 2024. Ouch. A late rally got them on the board but not close enough to contest, and thus the series was evened. Carlos Rodón is tasked with keeping the rubber match in New York’s favor, but we’ll get into that later in the night.

In the meantime, we’ve got some for fun style pieces for your Wednesday reading. Casey starts us off with a look at Aaron Judge’s softest-hit base knocks in honor of the big slugger collecting his 1,000th career hit, and later on David recaps the captain’s appearance on the kid’s show Rubble & Crew. In-between, it’s a Matt double-feature as he handles the Rivalry Roundup and the 1999 Diary entry, with the former going against the current Yanks while the latter was pretty fun for the eventual champs.

Today’s Matchup:

New York Yankees vs. Washington Nationals

Time: 6:45 p.m. ET

TV/Video: Amazon Prime Video, MASN

Radio: WFAN 660/101.9 FM

Venue: Nationals Park, Washington, DC

Questions/Prompts:

1. Will we see a 100-win team this season? Who makes it to the century mark if so?

2. Given enough time to get there, what comes first: Judge collecting 600 homers or 2,000 hits?
