Southampton are readying a bid to beat Everton to the signing of West Brom winger Tom Fellows, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via their website on Tuesday (27 August) that the Saints are “making a £10million move” for the 21-year-old, who’s also attracted attention from Everton and Leicester, after an “outstanding” display versus Stoke at the weekend..

It is understood that Southampton have been keeping tabs on the Baggies academy product since he impressed against them last season in the Championship.

The Mail adds that West Brom are open to offers for Fellows as they aim to avoid falling foul of the Championship’s PSR regulations.

Everton in pursuit of West Brom star Tom Fellows

While the Baggies might be open to offers from Fellows, £10million seems extremely low for an English attacker who’s in superb form and has three more years left on his contract

West Brom have already sold a bunch of players on the cheap this summer in order to comply with the EFL’s PSR so they probably don’t need to cash in on Fellows as well.
Of course, if a ridiculous bid comes in, they will probably cave but £10million seems low
Last season, Fellows scored four goals and supplied three assists in 33 Championship appearances to help Albion surpass expectations and qualify for the playoffs via fifth place.

After three league games this season, he’s top of the Championship’s assists charts after supplying three goals, with two of them coming in West Brom’s 2-1 win over Stoke on Saturday.

Everton would do well to get Fellows but it seems like Southampton are stealing a march on him at this point.

However, they will have to up their bid to get the Baggies to cash in.
