Birmingham City Again Set €2m On Their “Important” Star Player To Leave, Who Replace Him

Birmingham City set out transfer intentions for €2m-rated playmaker

Academy product George Hall is set to leave Blues on loan this summer in an effort to gain regular game time elsewhere.

Manager Chris Davies has now had several months to get to grips with his new squad and address areas of weakness in the transfer market. In that time, Davies has assessed Hall following his return from a long-term injury and decided it’s best to let him leave for the season ahead.

“For him, the future is probably going to be a case of getting the right exposure to game minutes that he might not be able to get here,” Davies confirmed to Birmingham Live after Blues’ 1-0 Carabao Cup win away at Charlton Athletic.

Birmingham World understands Hall, who has a current market value of €2 million according to Transfermarkt, remains in the Blues’ plans for the years ahead but not in the near future. This is even despite the recent sale of fellow young midfielder Jordan James to French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais.

Hall, who was linked with a move to Leeds United in December 2022, has seen his progression stumped by a string of unfortunate injuries. The 20-year-old’s most productive campaign was in 2022/23 as he racked up 30

Championship appearances, most as an impact substitute.

The midfielder, who can play as a deep-lying playmaker or as a number 10, played just 178 minutes for Blues last campaign. There’s no doubting Hall’s potential, though, as he once played six times for England at under-19 level.
