Weekend Review: Why Nuno Espirito Is Fighting For Another Star’s Deal
Nottingham Forest have ‘concrete interest’ in £12m midfielder
So far this summer, Forest have been able to address a lot of positions with most of the signings having been involved in a big chunk of the pre-season efforts.
But it is apparent the Reds are still on the hunt for further additions over the coming weeks.
Forest have recently had a bid rejected for Porto winger Galeno with the Portuguese side looking for an offer in excess of £30m.
Despite being one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs this summer, Forest still seem to have a fair bit of money to spend.
According to Calciomercato, Forest are showing a real interest in the AC Milan midfielder Yacine Adli this summer.
The 24-year-old is no longer part of the plans at the San Siro with the player already rejecting an offer from Saudi Arabia.
But the Premier League is calling for the Frenchman who has the likes of Forest and Leicester City showing a ‘concrete interest’.
With Paulo Fonseca not considering the player in his plans, his valuation of €14m (£12m) is believed to be negotiable this summer.
Nottingham Forest are seven days away from opening up their Premier League campaign and are currently on the hunt for signing number seven.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have now played all of their pre-season friendlies and full focus now rests on the upcoming game against Bournemouth.
Forest‘s summer has been a really positive one with the Reds impressing both on and off the pitch.
Thursday night provided Forest with their final friendly of the summer with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Olympiacos in Greece.
And in the market, Evangelos Marinakis has certainly provided Nuno with the backing he has needed ahead of the new campaign.
But there is still around three weeks for Forest to work some further deals and that is exactly what they’re looking to do.
What Thierry Henry has previously said about Yacine Adli
The Frenchman has received one of the biggest possible praises with his national hero, Thierry Henry, having hailed him in recent years.
Ahead of the 2022 World Cup, Henry was working his media duties for one of Bordeaux’s – Adli’s former side – games against Paris Saint-Germain where he had some big words to say to the midfielder.
“You were brave on the pitch and the World Cup is coming up in a year… Do we understand each other?” said Henry back in late 2021.
To which Adli replied: “Challenge accepted,” according to Milan’s website.
