“STUNNING DEAL.” The Blues Have Given Full Green Light To Complete The Deal Of Another Striker
Birmingham City receive green light to complete Karamoko Dembele transfer
Brest have confirmed that Birmingham City-linked Karamoko Dembele has been made available for transfer.
Dembele, the younger brother of Blues’ Siriki Dembele, spent last season on loan at Blackpool in League One and recorded eight goals and 13 assists in 39 games. Blues and newly-promoted Championship side Derby County have been linked with left-footed right winger Dembele.
The influence of Siriki Dembele on his brother has been enormous. Speaking after signing his first professional contract at Celtic, Karamoko said: “My brother Siriki, who plays for Peterborough United, first taught me how to play football.
“I wasn’t always interested in football, but he brought me in and he helped me. He helps me in everything I do. If I have a bad game, he’ll talk to me and he’ll say, ‘don’t be down, keep your morale high’.”
The 21-year-old has been told he can leave Brest, whom he joined from boyhood club Celtic two years ago. The French club’s sporting director Gregory Lorenzi has confirmed to L’Equipe that Dembele will depart.
Blues manager Chris Davies is familiar with Dembele from his time coaching alongside Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. Rodgers famously called Dembele up to first team training when he was just 13 and he made his senior debut at 16.
