Surprise Transfer Alert: Niclas Thiede’s Loan Move to SSV Ulm Could Change Everything!
VfL Bochum 1848 will loan Niclas Thiede to SSV Ulm for the 2024/25 season. Under certain conditions, the loan will be extended until summer 2026. For the 25-year-old goalkeeper, the move to the second division promoted team is a chance to gain more match practice. A subsequent purchase option has not been agreed.
“Since his return to Bochum last year, Niclas has always performed well in training and has always put himself at the service of the team,” says Marc Lettau, sporting director at VfL Bochum 1848. “Unfortunately, injuries have prevented him from playing in a competitive match in the VfL jersey. At this stage of his career, however, competitive practice is extremely important. We expect this to be achieved at a high level by loaning him to the 2nd Bundesliga. We still believe he can make the leap to Bundesliga goalkeeper, will keep a close eye on him and wish him maximum sporting success this season.” Thiede’s contract with VfL runs until June 30, 2027.
