REVEALED! West Ham Could Be Disappointed On The Deal Of A Top Rated Striker, What To Know
West Ham and Aston Villa are still far apart in their respective valuations of striker Jhon Duran, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed last week (26 July) that Duran, 20, has agreed to a £90,000-a-week deal with West Ham.
But the deal has stalled with the Irons unwilling to pay more than £30million to land the Colombia international.
Villa are holding out for closer to £40million, and have rejected a player-plus-cash bid which would have seen Hammers youngster Lewis Orford head to the Midlands club.
The clubs remain locked in talks with both sides hoping a compromise can be reached, but sources say the deal is “in limbo” at present.
That is despite Villa reportedly investigating Duran after he crossed his arms to make an ‘Irons’ gesture on social media amid negotiations with West Ham.

The 20-year-old has even admitted he hopes “something concrete happens” in the remainder of the summer transfer window, which slams shut on 31 August.
Duran made 37 appearances across all competitions for Unai Emery’s side in the 2023-24 campaign, scoring eight goals.
However, the forward struggled to break into the starting line-up and was named in the first XI in just 10 of those outings.
The 10-cap Colombia star travelled to Copa America in June but played just 13 minutes at the tournament.
He was a top target for Chelsea earlier this summer but the deal broke down and the Blues have since moved on to pursue alternative targets
