BREAKING! Nottingham In Serious Fight To Keep Back Their Star Defender

Nottingham Forest could face a fight to keep hold of defender Neco Williams this summer.

The Reds are said to have already turned down one bid for the Welshman. However, he has a number of admirers still eyeing him up.

Williams enjoyed a great run of form towards the end of last season before injury ended his campaign slightly early. He was voted the club’s player of the month three times in a row from February through to April as he played a key part in Forest securing Premier League survival.

Other clubs appear to have taken note, with West Ham United reportedly testing the water for the 23-year-old earlier in the transfer window. According to HITC, a player-plus-cash offer was made.

The Reds are said to have dismissed the Hammers’ attempt to prise away the right-back as they have “no intention” of letting Williams leave. Nevertheless, the club might find their resolve tested again before the window closes.

AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are said to have the former Liverpool man on their radar. And there is interest from Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Williams made the move to the City Ground from Liverpool two years ago and is under contract until 2026. His versatility makes him a valuable member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad as he can play on the left as well as the right, and has also proved capable of operating as a wing-back.

Williams made the right-back spot his own last term. Ola Aina can also play there but excelled on the left in 2023/24. Teenager Eric da Silva Moreira is also likely to provide competition in the upcoming campaign, having impressed in pre-season after his move from St. Pauli.
