Wigan, Stockport, Pisa interested in Crystal Palace’s Irish-Nigerian fullback

Wigan Athletic are among the clubs interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Irish-Nigerian fullback Tayo Adaramola on loan ahead of the upcoming season, according to reports.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international has returned to Selhurst Park after spending the second half of last season on loan at Belgian club RWD Molenbeek, where he made fourteen appearances but was unable to prevent them from avoiding relegation.

The London News Online says Wigan are keen on signing Adaramola on loan but face competition for his signature.

Wigan’s League One rivals Stockport County and Italian Serie B side Pisa are also interested in the 20-year-old.

Adaramola has yet to break into the first team of Palace on a permanent basis and had a brief loan spell at Coventry City in the first part of last season.

A key player for the Eagles development squad, he has received ten call-ups for first team games including six in the Premier League.

Since making his second first team appearance against Stoke City in March 2022, Adaramola has not figured for the first team of Crystal Palace.

The adventurous full-back has been on the books of Palace since the age of 12 and signed his first professional contract four years ago.

Crystal Palace have sold 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Owen Goodman has joined AFC Wimbledon on loan, while talented midfielder David Ozoh is on the brink of completing a season-long loan move to Championship newcomers Derby County.
