BREAKING: Birmingham City Star Made A Shocking Statement After Match Victory

Alfie May was overjoyed to net for the first time in Wednesday’s Arthur Cup victory.

Birmingham City eased past Solihull Moors at Damson Park in the third annual Arthur Cup, putting three past the Vanarama National League side in what was an eye-catching display from start to finish.

May opened the scoring with a clever strike across goal that nestled into the far corner, before Koji Miyoshi and Lukas Jutkiewicz rounded off the scoring in the second half.

Speaking to BluesTV post-match, May touched on his first goal in Royal Blue, and explained what partnerships are already beginning to form with his teammates.

“Even though it is only a friendly, it is always really nice feeling as a striker to get that first goal. I have been working on that type of finish for a while, hitting the ball across goal and through the defender’s legs. That is what all the best strikers are able to excel at.

“We are already linking well as a team and we have not even played full games together yet. It shows how hard we are working for it in pre-season, and there is still a long way to go.”

The goalscoring forward went on to speak about how he is settling into the Club since his arrival in early July.

“I have loved it. This is definitely one of the best groups I have been a part of, and from my first day walking into the dressing room I have felt very settled in.

“The togetherness in this group can take us a long way, the lads have been superb with me. As a new player it can feel sort of like a first day at school but, credit to lads, they have made it really enjoyable.”
