JUST IN: Tottenham Star Made A Shocking Statement About His Team Mate

Tottenham Hotspur’s January signing Lucas Bergvall has now joined up with his new side ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Having put pen to paper on a deal from Djurgardens earlier this year, Bergvall returned to the Swedish side for the remainder of the campaign.

However, the 18-year-old midfielder is now with Tottenham and ready to potentially get his first piece of game time in front of the Spurs fans on Wednesday night.

The Swede has now had over a week of training under Ange Postecoglou where he has been able to meet most of his new teammates for the first time.

Despite this being his first move outside of his homeland, Sweden, it seems the midfielder is taking little time to settle in at Hotspur Way.

And Bergvall has already admitted there is one teammate who he is finding incredibly funny.

Lucas Bergvall impressed by £25m Tottenham player

Spurs will be going into their friendly in Edinburgh on Wednesday night without some of their international players.

The likes of Cristian Romero will now be enjoying their summer break after representing their nations at the various international tournaments.

What this does mean is there will be opportunities for the likes of Bergvall to potentially showcase their talent in front of Postecoglou.

The Swede has now had a couple of weeks to bed into his new club and it seems there is one player who he has taken a real shine to.

Speaking on the club’s Reddit Q&A on Tuesday, Bergvall and Archie Gray were questioned on who they thought were the funniest members of the squad.

The former Leeds United midfielder replied with Fraser Forster.

However, Bergvall named one of his new midfield teammates in Yves Bissouma for his training ground antics.

“[Yves] Bissouma! So much energy and a great guy,” said the 18-year-old.

Yves Bissouma has a lot to prove this season at Tottenham

The 2023/24 campaign was a strange one for Bissouma after he started it off looking like the player Spurs thought they had signed from Brighton & Hove Albion for £25m.

However, the red card away to Luton Town quickly turned his season upside down and the Mali midfielder struggled to find his feet again under Postecoglou.

Pressure has to be on Bissouma this season with lots of options now at Postecoglou’s disposal for the upcoming campaign.

Perhaps having the competition and the ability to not start every game may benefit the Mali international, but it does feel like a decisive season awaits Bissouma on the back of such disappointment last time out.

Archie Gray to Tottenham is perhaps the most intriguing signing of the summer so far.

The teenage midfielder is viewed as a generational talent, and a lot of people can’t wait to see how he gets on this season at Spurs.

Gray has had his feet under the desk at Spurs for a couple of weeks now, and it’s fair to say he’s making a solid impression.

Indeed, according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Gray has impressed staff at Tottenham in multiple ways, with the journalist claiming that he’s impressed with both his talent and his attitude.

Archie Gray has been impressing

Gold shared what he’s been hearing about Gray.

“Lots of people are really impressed with Archie Gray over the past week. A real sense of what they’ve managed to get in him,” Gold said.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to have been very impressed with him in two different ways. He’s very talented, quick-thinking brain in the matches, and also off the pitch, his attitude, the way he is, the way he is with the staff as well.

“A respectful lad, someone compared him to the way Skippy was when he came through, respectful to staff across all levels.”

Gray has started well

Archie Gray’s start to life at Tottenham couldn’t have gone any better by the sounds of things.

He’s settled in well, and people around the training ground seem to be really taking to the teenager.

Of course, translating all of that into good performances in the Premier League is another matter entirely.

Playing top-level football is such a difficult task, but based on his start to life at Spurs and his performances in the Championship, Gray should be more than up to it.

Spurs look to have signed a real gem here.
