Here Is What To Know About The Great Manager Debate Starts

Published

on

A long standing viewer of this site, Tony Byfield, stepped forward and suggested that, when it comes to our ‘Best Ever’ series, we cover managers who have occupied the managerial office at Kenilworth Road.

Doing a quick check, I never realised how many managers have graced that office, so, therefore, when it comes to a prompt list, I decided to provide the names of those who have served the Hatters since I started following the club, when a certain Allan Brown was sat in the managerial chair.

But, looking back, especially during our turbulent times, I found that there were certain individuals who took over the role on a short term basis, so these form the basis of a second, mini list you may feel the need to choose from.

So, without much further ado, here is the aforementioned first prompt list:

• Allan Brown
• Alec Stock
• Harry Haslam
• David Pleat
• John Moore
• Ray Harford
• Jim Ryan
• David Pleat
• Lennie Lawrence
• Joe Kinnear
• Mike Newell
• Kevin Blackwell
• Mick Harford
• Richard Money
• Gary Brabin
• Paul Buckle
• John Still
• Nathan Jones
• Graeme Jones
• Rob Edwards

Followed by a second list naming those that, were more of a temporary appointment:

Alan Nielson
Brian Stein
Ricky Hill
Lil Fuccillo
Terry Westley
Andy Awford
Terry Mancini

Of course, as I’ve mentioned previously, in the other articles relating to our ‘Best Ever’ series, you do not have to stick to the lists I’ve conjured up, you can select others who impressed you and who may have sat in the chair before I started visiting Kenilworth Road.

Just place the names of your FIVE favourite managers of Luton Town Football Club in the comment facility beneath this article.
