GOOD NEWS: Newcastle Owners PiF In Talk For Stunning Deals

Newcastle United’s owners PiF are plotting a multi-club structure and are holding talks with multiple clubs about joining the portfolio.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the owners have held talks about multiple deals before Paul Mitchell joined the club as sporting director.

Multi-club structures are becoming increasingly more popular in football, and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) hopes to establish one for the Magpies.

They have looked at several contenders they could buy and have held talks with several Belgian clubs about that prospect.

Nothing has come from those conversations yet, but agents have been instructed to look into possible avenues for a potential second club.

There are also options in Portugal that PIF could explore, while Mitchell’s history working in a similar structure to RB Leipzig is expected to come in handy.

PIF taking further control after Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi left the club earlier this week could speed up this process, according to sources.

Newcastle United could benefit from having feeder clubs

One of the major benefits of having a multi-club system for Newcastle would be that they’d have access to feeder clubs.

It’s something that the likes of Man City and Chelsea currently tap into, sending younger players on loan to the clubs in their group to gain valuable game time.

Liverpool are also in the process of trying to explore this option, as it has been revealed FSG are in talks to buy French outfit Bordeaux.

Even though Newcastle’s owners are focusing on setting up this structure, they are still expected to financially back Eddie Howe this summer.

Football Insider revealed that the Magpies will have a £100million war chest to spend in this window as Howe looks to bolster his squad.
