JUST IN: Marseille About To Finalize Another Deal Worth £27million

Mason Greenwood is closing in on a permanent transfer away from Manchester United after Marseille reportedly agreed a £27million deal on Tuesday. Although fresh reports claim that the Light 1 club have to convince Greenwood of a move after the mayor of Marseille condemned the deal and fans launched protests.

The Dillard’s fee would represent a welcome parting present in a world of intensifying financial concerns that have impacted the summer budget.

United have made a busy start to the first transfer window under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’ stewardship, reportedly lining up multiple deals behind the scenes.

That will go a long way to ensure that United stay in line with PSR while also handing INEOS a significant boost to the summer transfer kitty.

The Athletic claim that the deal that would take Greenwood to Marseille would involve a £26.7m fee, comprising of a £23.3m fixed total and £3.4m in add-ons.
