The former Aston Villa talent has a £40m release clause which is around €47m, but the management are looking to insert an option to buy at €20-25m. However, Chukwuemeka is currently ‘favouring staying at Chelsea’ even if his playing time is in question.
Milan have the belief that they can convince the 20-year-old to join them given that they signed the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud Christian Pulisic from the Blues, all fringe players at the time who ended up finding a new lease of life in Italy.
The report goes on to mention that Chelsea ‘may well push to keep’ the England Under-20 international unless his release clause is triggered, and it feels unlikely that Milan would pay out that kind of money when they have other key needs to address such as the striker role.
