BREAKING! Again Skip Bayless Made A Surprising Statement About Lakers Star

Over the past couple of weeks, the news broke that LeBron James was willing to take a pay cut to help the Los Angeles Lakers get another star.

That would’ve been huge back in the day, but it didn’t move the needle at all in free agency.

They were reportedly targeting Klay Thompson, James Harden, and Jonas Valanciunas, yet all of them decided to sign with a different team.

That means that either LeBron is losing his pull or that he was never going to take that pay cut, and this was yet another PR move by the Klutch Sports machine.

Unsurprisingly, Skip Bayless believes the same.

He took to Twitter to claim that James never intended to take a pay cut, which is why the Lakers never truly stood a chance to outbid the Dallas Mavericks for Klay Thompson’s services, not to mention state taxes

Per Bayless, this was just Rich Paul doing what he does best, which is twisting and controlling narratives on social media.

Actually, both things could be true.

For starters, while James is a billionaire already, and taking a pay cut would help his team significantly if he wants to win another championship, he’s not obliged to do so by any means; he’s already earned his stripes and every single penny that’s coming his way.

Basketball is — or was — his livelihood, and he may choose to maximize his value for as long as he wants; there’s nothing wrong with that.

Still, Paul does have a history of controlling the media one way or the other, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see this being another one of his PR stunts.
